Job summary

Abound Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist two individuals in Somerset, PA with compassionate, reliable care and companionship. The role includes overnights and weekend support with a consistent schedule.

Starting pay is $17–$19.50 per hour plus a $1,000 signing bonus, with paid training and opportunities for growth within a mission-driven organization serving the I/DD community for over 20 years.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Female DSP required (client preference).
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to assist with personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, volunteering, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
