Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is hiring direct support professionals to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, community participation, and safety. You will provide personal care, support communication, and help individuals meet personal goals in a respectful, person-first environment.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior support plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related Human Services field and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or enrolled in a Bachelor's program; or HS diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications within 1 year (SCIP-R, AMAP, CPR, etc.).
• Ability to document services clearly for billing and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) and personal care.
• Provide emotional support and maintain respectful, person-first communication.
• Ensure safety, follow behavior support plans, and escalate concerns to leadership as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe therapeutic environment and complete required paperwork.
