Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Matthews, NC. Roles include helping with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support, with opportunities for growth and multiple shifts.

Starting pay is $15.40/hour with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments for averaging 20+ hours/week, plus paid onboarding and training.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
Valid driver's license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
Lifting may be required depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene and household tasks.
Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
Communicate with Abound Health team members, families, and external parties as needed.
Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
