Job summary

Abound Health in Knightdale, NC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. As a DSP, you will help with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while encouraging independence and living at home.

Starting pay is $15.40 to $19 per hour with paid onboarding and training, flexible full-time or part-time schedules, and a $1,000 signing bonus paid after meeting hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
