Job summary

Future Transitions, Inc. in Chatsworth, CA, seeks a Direct Support Professional 1 to support adults with developmental disabilities at home and in the local community. The DSP 1 provides personal care, helps with daily activities, and promotes community participation under supervision.

A criminal Live Scan, DMV check, and TB test are required, with pay ranging from $19.50 to $21.50 per hour. The role offers part-time to full-time hours with at-will employment and requires CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of experience caring for persons with developmental disabilities or related human services experience.
• Background checks including Live Scan and TB test are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and meal prep.
• Provide companionship and supervision during community activities.
• Support consumer in mobility, scheduling medical appointments, and accessing services.
• Record daily notes in logs and track medications.
• Report health or behavior changes to supervisor immediately.
• Assist with household tasks and upkeep of the consumer's home.
• Facilitate activities and transportation as needed per ISP and plans.
• Coordinate with DSP 2/3 and Area Coordinator as outlined in ISP.
• Ensure safety and adherence to home rules and care plans.
