Job summary

Kairos Home Care Services in Orlando, FL is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our dedicated team. You will work directly with individuals with disabilities, helping them lead independent lives and participate in their communities.

Ideal candidates are self-starters who are punctual, reliable, and able to follow a Support Plan, document required information, and assist with daily living activities in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience with disabled individuals or in home care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, hygiene, laundry, meals).
• Promote community integration and social interaction for clients.
• Follow the Support Plan outcomes.
• Complete paperwork and incident reports as required.
• Administer and record medications per state and agency rules (APD training may apply).
• Accompany residents to medical appointments when needed.
• Maintain a clean living environment per regulations.
• Provide transportation to clients as needed.
• Be available for emergencies; work with staff to support the consumer.
• Communicate regularly with the Supported Living Coordinator.
• Assist with recreational, cultural, and vacation plans.
• Provide independent living instructions.
• Complete mandatory APD trainings.
• Assist with shopping for essentials.
