Job summary

Homestead of Estherville is seeking a Direct Care Worker to provide direct care to residents, focusing on activities of daily living. You will also perform housekeeping, laundry, and mealtime service as well as other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

The role requires assisting with transfers, bathing, dressing, and peri care, while documenting information and maintaining a clean med room. You will rotate weekends and holidays and follow safety and infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• Direct care workers support residents with activities of daily living and daily routines.
• Documentation of resident information as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain clean, safe living areas and med room per policy.
• Attend required in-service education and training.
• Follow infection control and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in bed mobility and transfers as needed.
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist residents to dining areas and support mealtime service.
• Record vital signs and observe changes per schedule.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services as scheduled.
• Support residents with mobility and safety during shifts.
• Participate in shift handoffs and report resident status.
• Ensure compliance with care plans and rights of residents.
