Job summary

West Coast Seniors Housing Management is seeking a Server to join our dining and service team in senior housing communities. You will support dining room operations, assist with room service for residents and guests, and contribute to a welcoming culinary experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, cleanliness, safety, and respectful resident interactions, with opportunities to participate in community programs and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a dining room environment is an asset.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
• Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
• WHMIS Certificate.
• All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to operate related food service equipment.
• Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to work with cleaners, detergents and other cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing and maintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen the organizational culture and purpose.
• Prepares dining room for all services which includes; setting tables, stocking necessary items, assisting the preparation, presentation and serving of food and beverages.
• Carries out general cleaning duties in the dining room which includes; clearing and bussing tables, scrapping and at times washing dishes while following the company’s Infection Protection and Control guidelines.
• Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the happiness, self-respect, general dignity and physical safety of each resident.
• Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents and the public.
• Responsible for some or all tasks related to housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
• Attends and participates in community and education programs.
• Responds to resident and building emergencies.
• Perform other duties as required
