Job summary

Echelon Care and Rehab is seeking a Dietary Aide to support food service operations, maintain clean food service areas, and assist in meal preparation as needed. The role starts at $15.92 per hour and includes benefits such as health insurance, a 401(k), PTO, and overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities include delivering meals, serving in dining rooms, following diet lists, ensuring sanitation, and collaborating with a caring team to provide high-quality resident service.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty.
• Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor.
• Serve – in dining rooms.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor.
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs related work as assigned.
