Job summary

Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup for residents and staff. You will maintain a clean, safe dietary area and follow all food safety procedures while delivering courteous service.

Responsibilities include portioning meals, setting up dining areas, handling special diets, and ensuring proper food temperatures and sanitation throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service, dietary, or long-term care preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Teamwork with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, portioning, and serving meals per menus and dietary needs.
• Follow special diets, textures, allergies, and resident-specific requirements.
• Set up dining areas, meal trays, and dining rooms prior to meals.
• Deliver and retrieve meal trays and assist residents during service.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe handling procedures.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and dining spaces.
• Stock food, beverages, and dietary supplies.
• Label, date, cover, store, and rotate food per procedures.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Dispose of trash and maintain clean work environment.
• Follow infection-control and workplace safety procedures.
• Report spills, equipment problems, or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain respectful interactions with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality.
