Job summary

Creekside Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare and serve attractive meals that meet resident expectations while keeping a clean, safe Dining Services environment compliant with facility policies and regulations.

You will prepare meals from standardized recipes, monitor temperatures, and collaborate with Dining Services staff to ensure timely service and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Understands Dining Services procedures and practices.
• Able to follow oral, written and verbal instructions and work independently when needed.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English; read recipes/menus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality meals according to standardized recipes and menus.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods.
• Maintain and record assigned temperatures daily.
• Direct and supervise Dining Aides when needed.
• Have food ready at the specified time and begin meal service on time.
• Occasionally visit residents in dining rooms to gather feedback.
• Follow temperature regulations in preparing, serving and storing foods.
• Clean equipment after use and assist with other cleaning tasks.
