Job summary

Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, Colorado, is seeking a compassionate Dietary Assistant to support residents with meals and dietary needs. This PRN role offers flexible as-needed shifts, opportunities to grow, and a friendly team.

You will assist in food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards while following state and federal regulations. Prior institutional dietary service experience is preferred and reading diet orders is required.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Ability to work in an area that is often very hot/cold.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents.
• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Follows reporting procedures for observed resident concerns, supply and equipment needs, damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning equipment, and vermin conditions.
