Job summary

The Homestead at Montrose is seeking a friendly Dietary Assistant to join our on-site team in Montrose, CO. This part-time role offers a compassionate environment within Volunteers of America National Services and the opportunity to serve residents with dignity.

As part of a supportive team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, and adherence to dietary procedures, while growing in a mission-driven healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Attends required in-services and completes assigned online modules.
• Follows reporting procedures for observed resident concerns, supply and equipment needs, and any damaged or unsafe equipment.
