Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Dietary Aide to support all dietary functions within a hospital-style facility. The role requires following established policies and ensuring meals meet quality standards while maintaining sanitary conditions.

Responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation and service, maintaining clean work areas, and communicating effectively with residents, staff, and supervisors. Prior experience is preferred but not required; emphasis is on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year dietary experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, family, visitors, personnel, government agencies and the public.
• Must be able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all Dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in preparation and serving of meals per schedule.
• Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly fashion.
• Recommend to the supervisor the equipment and supply needs of the department.
• Review menu extensions prior to preparation of foods.
• Assist in arranging diet cards, serving meals, and loading trays on cart.
• Deliver food carts to designated areas.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
• Prepare and serve foods that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menu extensions.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Report all accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
• Report all hazards to supervisor immediately.
• Assist in maintaining storage areas in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
• Dispose of food and waste per policy.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services as scheduled.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
