Job summary

Join The Homestead at Montrose in Montrose, CO as a part-time Dietary Assistant. Help with meal service, food preparation, and resident care in a warm, purpose-driven environment.

You will follow recipes, read diet orders, and maintain hygiene while supporting a rotating 2-week schedule. Pay ranges from $17.40 to $19.65 hourly and benefits are offered.

This role is with The Homestead at Montrose, a VOANS community, focused on respectful, compassionate service and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
• Attends required in-services and completes assigned online modules.
• Follows reporting procedures for observed resident concerns, supply and equipment needs, damaged or unsafe equipment, and vermin-related conditions.

Pay Range: $17.40 - $19.65 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 2-week rotating schedule Friday, Monday, Tuesday then Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11:30am-6:30pm. 45.5 hours per pay period.

  • Damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning equipment.
  • Conditions related to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin.
