Job summary

The Laurels of Bedford is hiring a Dietary Aide to support daily food service operations in a skilled nursing setting. You will assist with meal prep, delivery, and sanitation, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer one year of experience as a food service aide in an institutional setting.
• Ability to read and follow diet cards, portion guidelines, and sanitation procedures.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle and store all food per facility procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.
• Prepare food items according to recipes and safe handling practices.
• Operate institutional food preparation equipment.
• Set up the food tray line and assemble diet trays per diet cards.
• Verify residents receive the correct diet and tray.
• Deliver tray carts to dining areas and units as needed.
• Report equipment problems to supervisor promptly.
• Maintain clean and safe workspaces and equipment.
