Job summary

Mountain View Convalescent Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide and Dishwasher to assist in all food functions in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, as directed by dietary or management. The role emphasizes kindness and respect for residents, with clear communication to residents, families, visitors, staff, and agencies.

You will work cooperatively with all departments and multidisciplinary teams to support safe meal service, sanitation, and proper handling of food and equipment,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience helpful; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the dietary department and cook as needed.
• Helping with meal preparation in accordance to the dietary needs of the residents.
• Assisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts.
• Following the established portion controls recommended.
• Adhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and cleanup.
• Keeping work tables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• Maintaining food service equipment.
• Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing silverware and utensils.
• Disposing of food and waste per facility regulations.
• Obtaining food supplies for the next meal.
• Stocking food in storage areas and refrigerators with the correct dates and labels.
