Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service in our Houston residence. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, you will assist with set up, serving, and clean up, ensuring friendly, professional dining experiences for residents and guests.

You will help with table setup, tray delivery, and maintaining cleanliness of dining areas and kitchen, while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Experience in food service and with seniors preferred.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one within six months.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in set up and preparation for service of items such as beverages, salads, and desserts.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and keeping dining and kitchen areas tidy.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
