Job summary

Nexus of Geneva seeks a Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Department with meal service and sanitation. The role reports to the Dietary Manager and may assist the cook in meal preparation and tray assembly.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and basic institutional dietary experience; strong reading skills for recipes and diet orders; and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours, including emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with preferred institutional dietary service experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate dietary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department Policy and Procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Setting up the dining room and serving the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Follow established reporting procedures for supplies and equipment needs.
• Report any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair. Report any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
