Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in institutional or commercial food service preferred.
• Basic computer skills required; valid driver’s license; tuberculosis test within 14 days; CDM certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Food Safety Manual regarding food preparation practices.
• Checks sanitary, temperature, and dishwasher function; maintains cleanliness of kitchen/cafeteria and equipment.
• Ensures utensils and servingware are clean and ready for service.
• Assists with checking meal trays for accuracy and ensuring timely delivery.
• Assists with maintaining adequate food supplies, storage, and rotation.
• Follows Texas Department of Health sanitation, safety, and infection control policies.
• Prepares and serves special diet orders (e.g., pureed, low sodium).
• Assists cook with meal preparation and delivers formulas to nursing stations.
