Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to RN immediately.
• Assist RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Record vital signs and assist in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; document intake/outtake.
• Assist in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety of patients, visitors and staff.
• Report equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures per department procedures.
• Communicate nutrition issues to RN (e.g., poor appetite, diet changes).
• Assist department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
