Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and adaptability required.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and patient comfort; records intake/output.
• Assists in specimen collection and activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs promptly per department procedure.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per protocol.
• Communicates nutrition issues to the RN.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and supports operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
