Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns or changes to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
• Record vital signs and assist in personal hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• Assist with specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Report equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate nutrition issues to the RN and assist with dietary changes.
• Assist with departmental administrative tasks and answer patient call bells.
