Job summary

ABUNDANT HOME HEALTH LLC in Arlington, TX is seeking a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide home health OT under supervision. You will assist patients in improving daily living activities, mobility, safety, and independence, while following established plans of care and ensuring accurate documentation.

The role requires an Associate Degree in OT Assisting (ACOTE-approved), a current Texas COTA license, and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Current Texas COTA license and valid driver’s license.
• One year of experience as a COTA in acute care, rehab, or home health preferred.
• Knowledge of durable medical equipment, adaptive devices, and patient safety.
• Ability to follow treatment plans under supervision of a licensed OT.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT treatments under supervision of an OT.
• Assist patients with daily living activities, mobility, safety, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising OT.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, visit notes, and required reports.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home safety, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic activities.
• Coordinate and communicate with the supervising OT and other healthcare team members.
• Follow infection control procedures, patient safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Complies with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable licensing requirements.
• Participates in required staff meetings, continuing education, in-service training, and QAPI activities.
