Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, staff and the public.
• Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Safe Food Handling: follow guidelines for handling and storage; monitor temperatures; enforce hygiene.
• Food Preparation: use standardized recipes; manage portions and diet requirements.
• General Food Service Duties: serve meals, clean and sanitize, store leftovers properly.
• Team Collaboration: assist other staff and close the kitchen per policy.
