Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Able to tactfully communicate with residents, family members, visitors, and staff.
• Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines for safe food handling and storage.
• Prepare foods using standardized recipes and production worksheets.
• Ensure meals are served within serving hours with proper portion control.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, equipment, and storage areas daily.
• Close the kitchen and coordinate with NSM/Administrator as needed.
• Assist other department staff to ensure timely production and cleanup.
