Job summary

Wheatridge Park Care Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team and prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for residents in a healthcare setting. You will follow approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines to ensure safe, enjoyable dining experiences while adhering to portion controls and waste reduction practices.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of cooking experience, and preferred healthcare/nursing home background.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a Cook preferred.
• Healthcare/skilled nursing home experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain timely meal service and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Review daily menus and event calendars to confirm necessary ingredients and supplies.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, visually appealing, and consistent with residents' dietary needs.
• Follow standardized recipes and substitutions only when authorized.
• Serve food using proper portion control methods; assist with special meals for events.
