Vista Ridge Senior Care is seeking a dependable Cook to join the Dietary Services team. The Cook prepares nutritious meals for residents, follows prescribed diets, and upholds sanitation and safety standards in a skilled nursing facility.

Qualifications

• Must have prior cooking experience in a healthcare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and portion control.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and dietary instructions.
• Texas Food Handler certification required or obtained within allowed timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks per approved menus and dietary needs.
• Follow therapeutic diets and special dietary instructions from Dietitian/Nursing staff.
• Ensure correct portions to minimize food waste and monitor food temperatures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and equipment.
• Label, date, rotate, and store food per FIFO guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and report shortages to dietary manager.
