Job summary

Stepping Stone Falls, part of Charter Senior Living, seeks a Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents, plan menus, maintain safety and cleanliness, and support a warm dining experience.

You will work with kitchen staff, follow dietary guidelines for elderly residents, manage inventory, and ensure timely service in a collaborative team environment. A high school diploma and culinary training are valued; healthcare kitchen experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Culinary certification or relevant vocational training is a plus.
• Strong culinary skills with focus on food preparation and presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary requirements for elderly residents.
• Compassionate, patient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Plan weekly menus accommodating dietary needs and preferences.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain clean kitchen environment.
• Engage with residents respectfully and accommodate dietary concerns.
• Monitor inventory and manage ordering of supplies to ensure freshness.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal service operations.
• Complete documentation like food temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
