Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state, or must within four months of employment complete state-required and competency evaluation program.
• Must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment.
• 12 hours of in-service education annually as required by federal regulations.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate resident care services and establish positive interactions with residents, families, and staff.
• Provide basic nursing care within the CNA scope of practice and assist with activities of daily living.
• Explain and demonstrate infection control and safety procedures; respond to call lights and resident needs.
• Maintain residents’ rooms in a neat, orderly manner and ensure dignity during care.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and participate in care planning.
