Job summary

Bethesda Health Group in Missouri seeks a dedicated CNA to provide patient care including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety under the Charge Nurse. You will document care, take vital signs, orient new residents, and assist with admissions and rounds, with focus on timely response to call lights.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state you will be working
• CPR certification or willing to obtain within six months
• High school diploma preferred
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, visitors and staff
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to lift heavy objects with assistance when necessary
• Ability to transfer/move patients of varying ability (200+ lbs) with assistance
• Ability to push/pull equipment weighing 40 lbs+ with assistance
• Manual dexterity and ability to document accurately
• Visual acuity and color discernment

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse
• Documents appropriately into patient records with skill level and guidelines
• Completes admission processes, records height/weight/vital signs and orients new residents
• Answers call lights promptly and responds to resident needs
• Turns/repositions residents every 2 hours and repositions seated residents every hour
• Performs procedures as instructed by Charge Nurse and maintains supplies/equipment
• Provides report to Charge Nurse at shift changes and communicates pertinent information
• May be assigned other duties as appropriate
