Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide patient care and support within the Alton facility. You will assist with hygiene, mobility, and safety under the Charge Nurse, document accurately, and help orient new residents.

The role requires CNA certification, CPR, and the ability to lift and move patients. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active CNA certification in the applicable state.
• CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Time management and ability to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with proper technique and assistance.
• Ability to transfer/move patients weighing 200+ lbs with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull equipment over 40 lbs with assistance.
• Manual dexterity and coordination for patient care and equipment.
• Ability to document accurately in writing or via tape recorder.
• Visual acuity to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Accurately document into patient records.
• Record height, weight, vital signs, and orient new residents.
• Assist with rounds and respond promptly to call lights.
• Ensure proper devices and supplies are applied per orders.
• Manage intake and output charts and report to Charge Nurse at shift changes.
• Perform procedures/treatments as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Maintain supplies/equipment and communicate needs.
• Provide reports to Charge Nurse at end of shift.
