Job summary

Osceola Medical Center in Wisconsin is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 0.9 FTE midshift position. The CNA will coordinate and deliver patient care under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Med/Surg RN.

Requirements include a current Wisconsin CNA certification (or ability to obtain) and BLS certification; prior Med/Surg or hospital experience is preferred. The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate care, and adherence to OMC behavior standards; the hospital environment

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant with current Wisconsin Certification or the ability to obtain prior to the start date.
• BLS certified.
• Prefer 1 year Med/Surg or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient’s condition to a registered nurse or physician.
• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care
• Maintains an effective clinical work environment including but not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients / specimens throughout hospital.
• Assist patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
• Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to: monitoring of vital signs, measurement of height and weight, specimen collection, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, ROM exercises, drain care.
• Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist.
