Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing in relevant state.
• Previous experience in long-term care or senior living (preferred).
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds - physical work is a primary part of the job.
• Able to stand, bend and walk for extended time periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to residents under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.
• Assist residents with daily care including bathing, grooming, hygiene, and equipment placement.
• Keep residents dry and change wet/soiled clothing and linens.
• Handle linens and make beds according to infection control guidelines.
• Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions.
• Assist with preparation for appointments, activities, and social programs.
• Assist with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents safely.
• Assist residents in ambulation with/without devices.
• Perform restorative procedures as instructed.
• Record heights, weights, temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures as instructed.
• Empty urinary drainage bags and report irregularities to nurse.
• Ensure call lights are within reach and answered promptly.
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident units, treatment rooms, and supply areas.
