Job summary

Neighborhood at Decatur, part of Phoenix Senior Living, is hiring Resident Care Associates (CNA) to join our assisted living and memory care team. This role focuses on hands-on care, supporting residents according to each PSP and maintaining a safe, home-like environment.

You will work Mon-Fri with every other weekend, report to the Family Experience Director or Assistant Director, and participate in care planning, daily activities, and call bell response.

Qualifications

• High School education preferred and may be required by the state.
• Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the RCA position.
• Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing, preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available to our customers at peak service delivery days and times.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of Personalized Service Plans and updates; attends service plan review meetings with families as requested.
• Follows the hydration schedule established for residents and maintains it during the shift.
• Completes resident meal attendance sheets and ensures residents not dining in the dining room receive room service or are accounted for.
• Knows and complies with all resident rights.
• Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities, as appropriate.
• Checks assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, continence issues and changes in condition.
• Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
• Checks on assigned resident rooms daily for cleanliness and neatness; ensures high risk rooms are double checked.
• Assists with laundry rooms and common areas; ensures cleanliness and secure hazardous chemicals.
• Completes all ADLs for assigned residents per PSP.
• Responds to security system and resident call bells promptly; takes appropriate action.
