Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time role in long-term care. You will provide resident-centered nursing care under an RN, assist with daily living activities, and help with transfers, mobility, and vital signs.

Shifts vary with day/evening/night hours and weekend availability. The role requires CNA certification or progress toward certification, a minimum age of 16, and ongoing education credits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• CNA certification with State Board, or in process of certification within four months of start date.
• Annual 12 hours of continuing education; maintain department certifications.
• UAP Registry where applicable.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver; valid license required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and mobility; monitor vital signs.
• Assist with meals and hydration; ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry assistance; support wellness and recreational activities.
