Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a CNA to care for residents in a skilled nursing facility setting under nursing supervision. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, mobility, grooming, and documenting care per CMS/State regulations.

Second shift, 4 shifts per week, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, with alternate weekends and holidays. Requires one year of CNA experience, active CNA certification, and CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident care as assigned and per individual resident routine, according to standards of care.
• Performs and documents daily range of motion exercises, assisting the resident to transfer from bed to wheelchair, assisting residents daily with bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers and ambulating.
• Assists residents to attend activities of their choice.
• Grooms residents as they wish to be groomed.
• Describe the care and outcomes of care provided and understand related therapies.
• Identify and document factors affecting resident distress and tailor activities to individual needs.
• Identify and document how residents communicate needs including pain, hunger, or thirst; emotional needs.
• Answer call lights promptly and ensure resident needs are met.
• Document all daily care per regulations and standards.
• Maintain a clean work and patient environment.
• Floats to units as needed; participate in QA/PI activities; provide leadership and training to new CNAs.
