Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant or PCT program.
• Current CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values; adheres to department leadership instructions and established policies.
• Follow Standard Precautions and OSHA guidelines; observe safety precautions as necessary.
• Maintain an organized, neat, and well-stocked resident unit.
• Document observations clearly and timely using correct forms.
• Assist with admissions and orient families to the unit; provide hospitality to residents and families.
• Maintain a safe, secure, comfortable environment for residents.
• Assist nursing staff and plan work duties; prioritize residents’ needs.
• Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, and feeding as ordered.
• Observe and report changes to nursing staff; document vital signs and daily activities.
• Assist with lifts, transfers, and patient positioning; ensure proper body mechanics.
