Job summary

Responsibilities include patient care, documentation, vital signs, admissions, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to ensure high-quality care for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant or PCT program.
• Current CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required.
• Prefer hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Adhere to instructions issued by the department’s leadership and perform duties in accordance with established DHR routines, methods and practices.
• Follows Standard Precautions and OSHA Guidelines; follows specific precautions as necessary.
• Maintain an organized, neat, well stocked resident unit.
• Prepare and maintain a record of observations and care given; document clearly and timely.
• Assist with admissions to the unit; orient family members to the unit.
• Maintain a safe, secure, comfortable environment for every resident.
• Participate in and receive report daily at start of shift; plan and organize work assignments.
• Support nursing staff in a calm, efficient manner during acute, emergency situations.
• Bathe residents by multiple methods; dress and groom residents; provide nail care.
• Make beds; measure and report vital signs; weigh residents as ordered.
• Monitor intake/output; observe skin condition and report changes.
• Safely lift, move and transfer residents; assist with feeding and positioning.
• Provide care under direction of nursing staff and follow care plans.
