Job summary

Bethesda Health Group seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our patient care team. You will provide hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety support under the guidance of the Charge Nurse, while maintaining accurate charting and reporting priorities.

Responsibilities include obtaining and recording vitals, orienting new residents, responding to call lights, and assisting with transfers and mobility. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed.
• Document appropriately into patient records per established standards.
• Obtain and record height, weight, and vital signs; orient new resident to facility.
• Ensure resident receives arm band and labeled admission kit.
• Respond to call lights promptly and complete rounds as assigned.
• Take vital signs and report to Charge Nurse promptly.
• Apply slings, splints, braces, and other care items as ordered.
• Maintain supplies and alert staff of needs.
• Complete shift reports and hand off to next nurse.
• Attend continuing education and in-services, and accept reassignment as needed.
• Interact with team and maintain confidentiality.
