Job summary

Good Samaritan in Miller, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. Duties include vitals, routine care, and medication administration as delegated.

Must be 18+, with CMA/TMA/CNA certifications as applicable by state. Experience in long-term care preferred; schedule is PRN with varying shifts and hours. Compliance with licensure and background checks is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Maintains yearly competency testing and a minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually.
• May require valid driver's license and auto insurance where applicable.
• For all Good Samaritan facilities: CMA or TMA certification and active CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administers medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within state scope of practice.
• Performs basic health care tasks including vital signs, bathing, grooming, and assistance with meals.
• Documents care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
• Supports wellness and recreational activities and communicates changes in resident condition.
