Job summary

Good Samaritan in Miller, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will administer medications, record vital signs, and support residents with daily activities in a Christian, not-for-profit setting.

Experience in long-term care is preferred; CMA/CNA certification per state requirements is necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Must complete yearly competency testing and continuing education (12 hours annually).
• State CMA/CNA certifications per state requirements; CMA for SD.
• Must have valid driver’s license and auto insurance if applicable.
• Active CMA/CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication outcomes, and vital signs.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping, and recreational programs.
