Job summary

UF Health is seeking a versatile Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a licensed physician in our NY clinics.

The role involves taking vital signs, documenting records, assisting with examinations, administering medications, basic first aid, and contributing to performance improvement and patient care coordination. Certification in CMA is required within 6 months and BLS at hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year medical assistant preferred.
• 2 years clerical/customer service in health care preferred.
• 1 year experience with third-party payors and data entry.
• Experience with entering and reviewing patient demographics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and prepare patients for care.
• Document medical records accurately with signature and time.
• Administer medications under physician supervision.
• Observe, report patient signs and collect labs as directed.
• Provide basic first aid.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Work as an active care team member coordinating patient care.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Travel to other clinics as needed.
