Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to perform CMA duties in an outpatient care setting. You will obtain vital signs, collect specimens, draw blood, and assist with simple diagnostics while maintaining exam rooms and supplies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with an accredited MA program, CMA certification, and current BLS. Candidates must be comfortable with EMR systems and patient interaction across all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certified as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or MedCA.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS.
• Ability to work with all age groups.
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
• Skills in phlebotomy, EKG and manual BP.

Responsibilities

• Perform CMA clinical duties: obtain vital signs, collect specimens, and administer limited medications/injections per policy.
• Perform simple diagnostic tests and assist in outpatient care settings.
• Draw blood, prepare equipment, and maintain exam rooms.
• Order/stock supplies and support in emergencies as directed by licensed staff.
