Job summary

Wellstar Health System is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support ambulatory clinics. The role includes taking vital signs, assisting providers, drawing blood, performing basic tests, and maintaining exam rooms. You will also handle front-office tasks, patient education, and triage communications.

A valid CMA credential and BLS are required, with at least 1 year in outpatient care preferred. GA driver’s license may be needed for some sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED General or Other / Certificate Medical Assisting.
• Certification as CMA / RMA / CCMA / NCMA / NRCMA or equivalent from listed credentialing bodies.
• Minimum 1 year outpatient setting experience; GA driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Complete ambulatory intake: Interview patients for visit information and histories.
• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and medical/family/social history.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
• Document procedures in EMR and manage supplies.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients during procedures.
• Collect labs and specimens per policy; dispose of biohazard waste.
• Front office duties as assigned (registration, scheduling, payments, etc.).
