Qualifications

• Current certification as a Medication Aide in Washington State.
• Experience in healthcare, preferably long-term care or rehabilitation.
• Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
• Washington NAC with 1 year experience, completion of a 90-hour medication assistant program, and passing the Washington Medication Assistant Competency Exam.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocols and state regulations.
• Monitor residents’ health conditions and report changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain MAR and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Educate residents and families about medication management and side effects.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment with infection control standards.
• Respond to residents’ needs with emotional support and encouragement.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills.
