West Licking County Family YMCA in Zanesville, OH seeks an entry-level part-time childcare assistant to support safety and care for children while parents use YMCA facilities.

Responsibilities include maintaining staff/child ratios, ensuring health and safety compliance, and building positive relationships with children and families. Training in CPR/First Aid and abuse prevention is required or pursued.

Competenze

• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
• Ability to relate to children, parents and staff in a mature, sensitive way.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention and Management of Communicable Disease training.
• Previous demonstrated experience with children preferred.

• Maintain staff/child ratio as established by the YMCA and state regulations.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements including no tolerance for cell phone usage.
• Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote self-esteem and self-discipline.
• Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about program news and illnesses.
• Maintain attendance, sign-in/out records, and accident/incident reports.
• Report staffing and program concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Attend required trainings/workshops and keep CPR/First Aid training current.
• Follow policies on boundaries with youth and abuse risk management.
