Job summary

Buckeye Valley Family YMCA is seeking a part-time School-Age Caregiver in Zanesville, OH to help run a structured before/after school program for children ages 5–12. The role emphasizes safety, engagement, and adherence to state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting with lesson plans, maintaining ratios, and recording attendance while collaborating with families and staff. CPR/First Aid certifications are required, with a focus on positive child development and program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Experience with diverse populations and strong communication skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading and implementing the before/after school program for children ages 5–12.
• Maintain staff/child ratio per regulations and site policies.
• Set up and break down daily lesson plans and program materials.
• Keep accurate records (sign-in/out, attendance, notes) and report concerns to supervisor.
