Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a Family Service Advisor to serve at St. Andrews Cemetery in Roanoke, VA. This full-time role guides families through pre-need and at-need cemetery planning with a compassionate, “Family First” approach.

Responsibilities include managing leads, scheduling appointments (min. 20 pre-need/month), coordinating referrals, and supporting memorial design processes for three Western Virginia cemeteries.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred; 3+ years cemetery experience desirable.
• Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling multiple priorities.
• Catholic is strongly preferred; ability to work with families compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced planning with families for pre-need and at-need cemetery arrangements.
• Guide families through the planning process with a compassionate, “Family First” approach.
• Track leads and schedule appointments; manage referrals via OCFS processes.
• Attend community events to network and promote cemetery planning services.
• Serve as primary point of contact for memorial design and family communications.
