Job summary

Nightingale Respite Care seeks a compassionate Caregiver to provide quality non-medical homecare to our aging population in Tennessee. Flexible scheduling, weekly direct deposit, health benefits, and online training are among the benefits.

The role includes companionship, light housekeeping, and assistance with transfers, bathing, grooming, meals, and daily activities in client homes, with support available from our team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a background check.
• 1 year caregiver experience in health care, nursing home, hospital or homecare setting required.
• Valid driver’s license/state ID and reliable daily transportation.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Adequate physical endurance.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with housekeeping tasks.
• Assist clients with transfers and ambulation using cane, walker, wheelchair or Hoyer Lift (as needed).
• Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Plan, prepare and serve meals with client involvement when able.
• Assist with toileting including bedpan or toilet.
• Report unusual events to the administrator.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Complete other duties per Client Service Plan.
